Welcome to TACTILE, a VIJN service.

I’m Cherif Gueye. a Senegalese-American writer using words to bring people together. TACTILE on Substack exists to make writing a design practice.

The approach that guides all projects at VIJN, our tactile design company based in Los Angeles. We debuted with the Nest, a set of ceramic bowls made for the contours of our hands. It’s became our platform to host no-table dinner parties, support rising chef pop ups, and share flavors daily.

TACTILE is a scholastic space to learn how to write product briefs, experiential user journeys, and stories about our tactile life.

I never studied engineering, supply chain, or industrial design to get here. Rather wrote my way through creative strategy roles at adidas Originals, Netflix, and Bleacher Report. A winding path to shape ideas into feelings we can share… For a while, this work was intangible. A sensation currently unfurling to a pulsating drive to make tactile objects and spaces, for us.

Inshallah, TACTILE will detail how we got here and where we’re taking our growing sense of clarity. We will write stories, guide interviews, and share rubrics for you to develop your writing into a world-building skillset.
